This park, located in the center of Gifu City at the foot of Mt. Kinka, is said to have been the residence of Doso Saito, lord of Gifu Castle in the Warring States Period, and Nobunaga Oda. Kinkasan, the park is surrounded by the great nature of Mt. Kinkasan and is home to many facilities including the Nobunaga Garden, the remains of Nobunaga’s residence, Kabukimon Gate, Gifu City Museum of History, Eizo Kato Toichi Memorial Museum, Ritsurei Tea House Kashoken, Nawa Insect Museum, and the Kinkasan Ropeway Sanroku Station, which connects to the top station of Mt. Excavations are underway at the site of Oda Nobunaga’s residence, and significant results have been obtained, including the discovery of stone paving that may have been used for a garden and foundation stones for a building.
